Plastic bottles take 450 years to break down and in some cases, it can take up to 1000 years for plastic to decompose in a landfill. While scientists are looking for a solution (hello, plastic-eating mushrooms!), you can do your part to help minimize your plastic use by keeping these two essentials by your side at all times.

You can use a to-go tumbler during your morning commute to carry your English breakfast (with a splash of honey) or black coffee (with a splash of sugar). In the afternoon, when you've decided to swap out your caffeine fix for water, and in the evening, you can drink your favorite red wine out of this adult sippy cup. To-go tumblers keep plastic lids, water bottles, and paper cups out of our landfills. Plus, many local coffee shops offers discounts when you bring your own cup and although chains like Starbucks only offer a $0.10 discount, this eco-friendly practice is much greener than throwing away a cup every single day.
